We began as the Akron Fire Department Credit Union more than 80 years ago. Our name later became Akron Firefighters Credit Union and membership expanded to firefighters and their families throughout Northeast Ohio. In 2016, we merged the Akron Police Department Credit Union into our membership. In 2023, Akron Fire Police Credit Union was acquired by Chicago Patrolmen’s Federal Credit Union. Our field of membership includes only select law enforcement, firefighter, and EMT Departments and Associations across the State of Ohio. Our products are tailored to, and our focus is solely upon public safety employees throughout Ohio.
