Chicago PD

By John Aretos of Police Mortgage

Earlier this year the producer of the Mortgage Beat shared a fun fact with me. Chicago has the second largest police department in the country.  Just as impressive, it's actually the fourth largest in the world behind New York City, London, and Tokyo.

I'd say probably pound for pound though that New York and Chicago are the toughest. Obviously, I’m biased but I think our country simply has a higher level of crime and danger. Our guys and gals are tough. I'll take a Chicago cop all day, baby. They're the best and I’m proud to offer police home loans to many of them.

They've got a tough job. Chicago has a great history, including for police. We work quite a bit with the Fraternal Order of Police, and I believe the largest lodge is right across the street from our headquarters.

Police Mortgage and our parent company, the National Police FCU, have nothing but respect for law enforcement. We’re loyal to the police. It’s not a political statement. It’s just who we are.

Law enforcement receives our support, and they should get more of that throughout Chicago and the entire country for that matter. Simply put, they deserve it.

I have heard this before, but to use a military analogy, some civilians say they are against the war but for the veteran. I think the soldier wants to know that you are behind him and the cause. In Chicago, police represent the people and they're fighting crime. Everybody should be on board with that. Police Mortgage is on board with that.
