Are my family members eligible to join National Police Federal Credit Union?
Yes, in addition to qualifying law enforcement and first responder members, immediate family members are also eligible to join.

Where are your branches located? 
National Police currently has branch locations in:

What are your hours? 
Monday-Friday 9 am- 5 pm with Video Teller/ITM service available at 8 am. 24-hour ATM access available. 
 
What holidays are you closed? 
National Police branches are closed on weekends and observe all federal holidays.
 
Do you carry or sell savings bonds? 
No, savings bonds must be purchased through the Treasury Direct website.
 
What should I do if a member passes away?
A spouse, joint owner, beneficiary, or other authorized individual should notify the credit union. An original death certificate, full trust agreement (if the account is in a trust) and/or small estate affidavit (if applicable) is required.
 
What if a member is called to active duty? 
The member automatically qualifies for a reduction in their loan and/or credit card interest rate and deferment of monthly payment (if applicable).
 
What happens when a member returns from active duty? 
The member’s reduction in their loan and/or credit card interest rate and deferment of monthly payment (if applicable) is reinstated to its original terms and conditions. The member must notify the credit union contacting us. The member and/or Power of Attorney (proper documentation required) must provide the member’s military orders for each year and each successive year to follow (if applicable).
How do I know if my online loan application was approved? 
To check the status of your loan application, please contact us via our Live Chat.
 
How do I pay off my loan?
To pay off your loan, you can chat receive your full payoff amount and pay via cash, check or wire transfer, or you can log in to Online Banking and transfer the payoff amount from your internal account or make a One Time Loan Payment.
 
I paid off my auto loan, when should I expect to receive the title?
The lien-free title will be released 10 business days after the payoff date.
 
What is Debt Protection and how does it work? 
Life and Disability Debt Protection allows you to safeguard your loan in times of uncertainty. With Debt Protection, your loan balance or monthly loan payments will be canceled without penalty or added interest in the event of death or disability.
 
What is GAP Coverage? 
GAP is designed to eliminate your unpaid net loan/lease balance in the event your vehicle is stolen or damaged beyond repair (totaled).

What is Route 66 Extended Warranty Coverage?
It is the National Police Federal Credit Union’s extended warranty option for vehicles. Route 66 offers additional coverage for your vehicle. 

What forms does a cosigner need to fill out? 
A cosigner needs to fill out the Cosigner Packet. Please contact the Credit Union for an electronic version of this packet.

How is my Shared Secured Loan rate calculated?

How does Write Your Own Ticket Work?
  • The financing period cannot exceed 84 months
  • The member must have a credit score of 700 or above
  • The amount borrowed cannot exceed $74,999.99 
If your new car loan application is approved, we’ll schedule you for a loan appointment right away. You don’t need to know what vehicle you’ll be getting, because we will provide you with a “blank” check.

Take your Write Your Own Ticket check to the dealer of your choice and shop with the confidence of a cash buyer!

Your National Police Write Your Own Ticket check can be used at any licensed dealer located in the state where you will be titling the vehicle, within 60 days of issuance.

Can I use my Write Your Own Ticket (WYOT) check to purchase a pre-owned vehicle? 
Yes, a Write Your Own Ticket check can be used for both New or Used vehicles. 

I purchased my vehicle recently and financed it through another company. It still meets the new auto criteria. Can I use a Write Your Own Ticket (WYOT) check to refinance with the Credit Union? 
No. At this time, the WYOT checks can only be made payable to a dealership, not a finance company. 

What if my Write Your Ticket (WYOT) expires?
If your Write Your Own Ticket check exceeds the 60-day time period allotted, you will need to re-apply for the loan.

Can I apply for a Write Your Own Ticket (WYOT) check and purchase my car out of state? 
Yes, you can complete an application online. Apply Now.

The dealership will not accept my Write Your Own Ticket (WYOT) check? 
You will need to schedule an appointment and have your auto loan disbursed through our conventional method. 
How do I obtain my account/member number?
You can view your account/member number by logging into your Mobile/Online banking and going to ‘My Settings’.  It will be listed at the top of the page underneath your name.  If you do not have access to Mobile/Online banking, you will need to reach out to us via Live Chat between 8am – 5pm CDT.

How do I add or update a joint owner?

How can I have my Direct Deposit sent to the Credit Union?
Setting up direct deposit is typically done through your employer. You’ll need to provide the credit union routing number, your account number, and your account type (i.e. savings or checking). If you’re depositing your salary to multiple accounts you’ll be able to specify the allocation amount or %. The Credit Union can provide an Account Verification Letter if your employer requires it.

Is there an easy way to pay my monthly loan payment or put extra money aside for something special? 
Yes, you can set up a monthly transfer from your Savings or Checking account. Contact the Credit Union via Live Chat to request the Transfer Authorization Form.  

How do I transfer money to another financial institution?

How do I transfer money into the Credit Union?

Does National Police Federal Credit Union have a mobile app?

How do I sign up for Online Banking?

Where do I find the Online Banking Login?

What is a Personal Identification Number (PIN)? 
A PIN is a numeric code you enter to enable a transaction at an ATM or point-of-sale terminal. 

Why is my Home Banking login sending me to a Loan Application page? 
The member automatically qualifies for a reduction in their loan and/or credit card interest rate and deferment of monthly payment (if applicable).

Can I make transfers between two Credit Union accounts?
Yes. Please contact the Credit Union via Live Chat for a Cross-Transfer Authorization and Disclosure Form.

Am I able to make transfers to my other bank or credit union accounts? 
Yes. When you log into your National Police Online Banking, you will click on the “Move Money” tab and then “External Funds”.

What is External Loan Transfer? 
External Loan Transfer allows you to pay Credit Union loans from other financial institutions. 

What is Overdraft Line of Credit? 
The Credit Union offers Overdraft Protection that is attached to your checking account as a line of credit at an annual percentage rate of 18%, in the event the account does not have the sufficient funds to clear a transaction.

How do I set up or adjust Overdraft Protection?

What is a debit card?
A debit card is like a credit card, except that it “debits” money directly from your checking account.
 
How do I create a new PIN for my card?
To create or change your Debit Card PIN call 866-985-2273. Outside of the U.S. call 531-262-5314.
 
Can I use my Visa® Debit Card for purchases without paying interest charges? 
Yes. Since the money for your purchases comes directly from your checking account, there are no interest charges.

Should I alert the Credit Union before I go out of town?
Yes, please contact the Credit Union via Live Chat for a Travel Exemption Form.
 
What happens if my National Police Visa® Credit Card or Debit Card is lost or stolen? 
To report a lost or stolen Credit or Debit Card, please call (800) 449-7728. 

How can my debit card help me handle my banking needs? 
Your debit card gives you 24-hour banking convenience. Simply use your card to make deposits or withdrawals, check balances, or transfer funds between accounts.
 
How do I make a credit card balance transfer?

How do I keep track of my purchases? 
All transactions made with your debit card are listed on your monthly account statement.
 
Is using a Debit Card safe? 
Absolutely. Whether you’re shopping on the Internet, by phone, or in person, you’ll have zero liability for unauthorized signature purchases.
 
Where can I make purchases with my Visa Debit Card? 
Your debit card can be used to make purchases at more than 25 million places that accept Visa®.
 
What do I do when the merchant says enter your PIN for a Visa® Debit Card purchase? 
Tell the merchant you want to make a credit purchase and sign the receipt.
 
When I make a purchase, do I have to give the merchant personal information? 
No. You may need to present identification to the merchant, however, no other personal banking information, such as your PIN or account balance, can be accessed by merchants.
 
Can I get cash back with my purchases?
Yes, this is a convenient way to withdraw cash from your checking account when shopping, with no need to make a special trip to the ATM. Simply inquire if you can get cash back before the cashier calculates your purchase total. Many merchants will be happy to honor your request where the service is available.
 
What other benefits will I enjoy with my Visa® Debit Card? 
 Your debit card can get you out of checkout lines fast because you won’t have to wait for check approvals. And every purchase will be listed on your monthly checking account statement, which can simplify your record keeping.
 
Can I use my Debit Card to set up recurring bill payments? 
Yes. From Internet and phone charges to health club dues, more and more service providers are offering the convenience of automatic bill payments using your debit card. It ensures that your recurring bills are paid on time without the hassles of writing checks every month. And there are no interest charges since your payments are automatically deducted from your checking account. To set up recurring bill payments, simply contact providers that send you bills on a regular basis and ask if they can bill your debit card.
 
What Bill Pay options are available? 
You may pay your bills using your debit card at the biller’s website. Just log onto a biller’s website, enter your debit card number, enter the amount of the bill and that’s it! You do not enter your PIN. This is referred to as a PINless payment. Utility, cable, and insurance payments are a few examples of how Pinless payments help you manage your finances the quick and easy way.
Once I’ve been accepted to the High Caliber Program, am I always a High Caliber member? 
No, you must maintain the program requirements to continue in the program.
 
What happens if I stop using one of the products or services that qualified me for this program? 
You will have six months to meet the requirements or you will no longer be enrolled in the High Caliber Program and you will lose all benefits and incentives associated with the program.
 
If my qualification for the program ends, do the rate discounts and incentives still apply? 
If you no longer qualify and are no longer enrolled in the program, the incentives no longer apply to new products.
 
Will two auto loans qualify towards the three products required for the High Caliber Program?
Yes.
 
Will a motorcycle loan qualify as one of the three products required for the High Caliber Program? 
Yes, motorcycle loans qualify. 
 
Will three Share Certificates, Money Market, IRAs, or Savings Squad accounts count as the three products required for the High Caliber Program? 
No. 
 
Will an Education IRA qualify for the High Caliber Program?

What type of service is required to qualify for the High Caliber Program with Liberty Mutual or TruStage?
You must have a current policy.
 
What type of service is required to qualify for the High Caliber Program with MAF? 
You must have an investment with MAF.
 
What does the personalized representative do for the member?
The representative assists the member with all Credit Union transactions. 
 
Does the personalized representative enter loan applications for the members in the program?

Does the High Caliber additional 0.25% on all Share Certificates and IRAs include the renewal of certificates?
Yes. 
 
Which loans are eligible for the 0.25% High Caliber reduction? 
New/Used Auto Loans, Motorcycles, Share Secured, and Signature Loans. 
 
Are Mortgages and HELOCs eligible for the 0.25% High Caliber reduction?
No. 
 
Can a loan refinanced with a lower rate and the High Caliber reduction used on the loan? 
Yes.

Can the 0.25% High Caliber reduction for loans be combined with any other rate reduction?
No. 
  • Wire Fraud Alert: To protect our members from increasing incidents of wire fraud, please be aware that electronic communications such as email may be vulnerable to interception by hackers. Criminals may attempt to send fraudulent wire instructions that appear legitimate. Failure to verify wiring instructions could result in funds being sent to an unauthorized account and may not be recoverable.

    Do not rely solely on emailed wiring instructions. Before sending any funds, you must independently verify the wire instructions by calling the recipient using a known and trusted phone number. Do not use phone numbers or links provided in email messages containing wiring instructions. If you receive any communication suggesting a change to wiring instructions, consider it suspicious.

    National Police will never send third-party wire instructions via email.
