Now serving a national community. Founded in 1936 as the Akron Fire Department Credit Union, our institution was built on the unwavering commitment of firefighters looking out for one another. Over the decades, we grew alongside the firefighting community, first as Akron Firefighters Credit Union and later expanding to include police officers and first responders throughout Ohio. This foundation of service, strength, and trust has stood the test of time, making us one of the longest-standing firefighter credit unions in the country.

Now, as National Firefighters Credit Union, a division of National Police Federal Credit Union, we proudly extend this tradition of financial service and firefighter-first solutions across the nation. Northeast Regional Firefighter Challenge

Our team was honored to attend the Northeast Regional Firefighter Challenge in Akron, Ohio, where we connected with firefighters from across the country and around the world while cheering on competitors as they tackled what ESPN has called the "Toughest Two Minutes in Sports."
 
Witnessing the determination, camaraderie, and perseverance shown throughout the competition was an inspiring reminder of the commitment firefighters bring to their communities every day.
